Group Showcase Performances with Faculty Critiques

Here’s your opportunity to be seen by and receive feedback from the Industry’s top choreographers. The Club Stylz Showcase is a non-competitive, supportive environment where your dancers can perform without the pressure of a competition.

Groups will receive a video of their performance with feedback from our faculty, as well as written critiques at the end of the convention. New this season: we are now offering LIVE FEEDBACK at our Club Stylz evenings! To opt in to receive LIVE FEEDBACK from our judging panel, just email us!

We allow a limited number of Club Stylz Showcase entries to perform at each event; first come, first served! Your group's entry must be paid in full to secure your spot. All performing dancers must be registered for the same event's convention classes.

Fees

Early $45 | Reg $50 (per dancer)

Club Stylz showcases reserved for groups of four (4) or more dancers. Limit one (1) routine per group unless bringing fifty (50) or more dancers.

3 minute maximum. Additional time may be purchased for $3 per dancer, per additional 30 seconds.

• Parents freestyle battle to win Monsters Dance scholarships!

The ability to freestyle is an important part of being a successful dancer. We're giving you the opportunity to practice and show your moves! Dancers can sign up to battle in the level they are registered for - Junior, Intermediate or Advanced/Industry - with cash prizes awarded for every level!

Dancers will dance to music provided by our Club Stylz DJ and rounds will be decided by our Monsters Dance Faculty Choreographers. A limited number of spots per Freestyle Battle Level are available, and we recommend signing up to battle in advance to avoid disappointment at our events.

Fees

Early $40 | Reg $50 (per dancer, all levels)

Parent Battle entries are FREE and parents of registered attendees may sign up at the event!

Both Freestyle Battle and Club Stylz Showcase Fees increase by $10 when registering within 30 days of the event.

MUSIC

• All music must be clean, edited, and appropriate for audiences of all ages.

• Music must be uploaded to your account two (2) weeks prior to the event for pre-approval.

• A $20 late change fee per routine will be charged when music is not submitted by the deadline.

PROP USAGE

• Any props must be approved by our Monsters A-List team prior to use - please include prop details when registering routines in your online account.

• Competitors have two (2) minutes prior to and following their routine to set/remove props.

• If the stage is ‘littered’ during a routine, competitors must be prepared to clean it up immediately after the routine is finished.

• The following items are prohibited: use of fire, weapons, alcohol or drug paraphernalia, fog machines and/or hazers, liquids or messy materials, powders, animals, etc.

KEEP IT IN THE HIP HOP FAMILY

The Monsters A-List Competition is a singular genre. Commercial Hip Hop (or New School) is welcome, but versatility is encouraged (e.g. street jazz, house, old school, funk styles, etc).

Routines can incorporate commercial dance styles, including various forms of hip hop dance, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, acrobatics, etc., however, at least one style of hip hop dance* (e.g. street jazz, house, funk styles, etc) must be included.

*Hip hop dance refers to dance styles, mainly street dance styles, primarily danced to hip hop music, or that have evolved as a part of the hip hop culture.

SHOES ARE MANDATORY

For the safety of all performers on the Monsters stage, footwear MUST be worn at all times. Performers will not be allowed onstage or permitted to compete in bare feet or socks.

KEEP IT CLEAN

At Monsters events, we appreciate the wide range of personal expression and creativity offered by different styles and choreography. While we do not wish to stifle anyone’s artistic voice, the Monsters A-List competition is a family event, and routines deemed inappropriate will be penalized.

OTHER POLICIES

• All performing dancers must be registered for the full convention weekend to be eligible to perform. All fees are non-refundable, no exceptions.

• Dancers must check in 30 minutes prior to their scheduled performance time at the backstage area.

• Flash photography during performances is not permitted.

• Cash, money orders, checks and credit cards will be accepted for your Showcase and/or convention registration fees. All payments must be received 30 days prior to the event in order to receive regular rates.

• Checks must be received by Monsters no later than three weeks prior to event commencement.
